Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I have lived in various regions of the U.S. and now reside in the Hill Country of Texas where the natural beauty of the area informs my work. I have a BFA in Visual Art from Auburn University and a teaching certificate from Birmingham-Southern College. I am a former art educator and now devote my time to creating art and promoting the arts in my community. I exhibit my work in galleries throughout Texas, have done public and private commissions, and have an open studio/gallery space, Studio 12.8 at Art on 12 Gallery in Wimberley, Texas.
My work is a combination of playful exploration with materials, a connection to natural elements with an emphasis on color. I do not claim a defined "style" but allow my exploration to lead me in new directions, shifting, defining, and editing as the process develops. I work in contemporary realism using more traditional techniques, nature pieces in mixed media and highly textured abstract expressionism. My intention is to push the boundaries of each media by using unique objects, materials, and methods.
